The Modena based company Autogas Italia, that belongs to the Holdim group, is specialized in the design of systems for onverting vehicles to gas.

It is over five year that the company exports its DDF (Diesel Dual Fuel), also converting buses, in different continents, allowing the use of all of the range of alternative gaseous fuels such as Methane (CNG), Liquid Methane (LNG), Biomethane and LPG. With the Dual Fuel technology, the use of diesel for the engine is reduced and therefore there will be lower emissions. A percentage of diesel is removed and replaced by an alternative fuel with the same energetic traits. This is an opportunity to give a second life to diesel buses, in particular to those still performing well bat not adequate to under an enviromental point of view. The company has recently installed its 100th DDF system on an Iveco Magelys bus owned by the transportation company Crescini Cesare from Lonato (Bs), using LPG as alternative fuel substituting the diesel fuel. The work was carried out at the Azzolina workshop in Brescia. On the Magelys – explained Mr. Valter Madreperla of Autogas Italia – our Diesel/LPG supply kit allows a reduction of about 35 to 40% of gas oil, while the autonomy in dual fuel about 1,100 kilometers, and all of this maintaining unchanged the motor’s performances. In Italy, the fleet of vehicles converted with DDF includes also diesel/methane fueled buses with many years of work behind them and many many kilometers traveled all over Europeans.
