LNG at the Padoa interchange

The gas station is also the first to participate in GAINN_IT, an initiative for creating LNG infrastructures in the Italian ports and interchanges. This strategic project for the European TEN-T network, will be developed through the years 2017-2022 with investments of 1.27 billion euros. The LNG does not arrive at the gas station by road from Marseilles or Barcelona, but with inter modal ISO by rail way containers from Rotterdam. While the LNG coastal deposits from which ships and ISO containers can refuel are being built, the ISO containers can travel on a ferry or ship allowing a sustainable LNG delivery also to Southern Italy and to the islands. At the same time, Iveco will deliver 20 Strails full-LNG to the hauler Autamarocchi (a fleet of 3,000 trucks). A first step towards change: if the approximately 2000 cars per day travelling on the Padua Interchange turned to LNG the benefit would be equivalent to planting a forest with 2 million trees.
