The text referred to Costantinopolis which at the time was called Byzantium, and the Latin differed from that spoken at the time of the Roman emperor. No one ever challenged it, however, and Rome is now the capital of the Catholic religion, rich in culture and visited by a constant stream of pilgrims and tourists. The current pope took the name of “Francis” in honor of a saint who is also the protector of the environment. If we use our car to visit Pope Francis in Rome, it should at least be an eco-friendly model.
