Ecomotive Solutions tests DME and aims to a 100% DME engine

The experimentation of dimethyl ether or DME as an alternative fuel to replace traditional diesel to power heavy vehicles, in this specific case an Iveco Eurocargo, has been successfully completed.

This initiative was promoted by Ecomotive Solutions, a company located in Serralunga di Crea (in Alessandria’s county) which produces and distributes components and systems for sustainable mobility together with the prestigious Technion University of Haifa (Israel). We found that DME is one of the most sustainable alternative fuels for on road heavy-duty transportation – explain the company’s experts. – This solution is applicable to all of the diesel engines (and in the future also with the ones blending with LPG), simply modifying a few parts of the engine, in a very limited and non invasive way. Testing is only the first step: Ecomotive Solutions is developing a 100% DME engine, in addition to other diesel engines retrofit applications for special and industrial engines.
